I am a Philadelphia-based dance artist and the director of Moving Parts. Moving Parts aims to be a familial dance think tank with a group of steady collaborators exploring how art environments are made as we build them. Reflective discussion is critical to my process; I prioritize collaborating with inquisitive performers whom I consider fellow researchers.  Ultimately I aim for Moving Parts to host composition, improvisation, and theory workshops for fellow artists and the community at large.

My work has been presented locally by the Live Arts Festival, Bowerbird, Thirdbird/Blindspot Festival, the Community Education Center, Vox Populi gallery, Little Berlin gallery, NEXUS foundation for today’s art, and Cirque de Verre,  nationally in Movement Research at the Judson Church (NYC) and Scripps College (CA), and internationally in Badass Dance Fun at the Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, Ontario.

I am a 2012 Independence Fellowship recipient. I was a 2008-10 Susan Hess Choreographer’s Project (SHCP) resident and a 2006 New Edge Mix recipient.  I co-founded Mascher Space Cooperative in 2005 and was an artist in residence there from 2005-2008.

In 2008 I self-produced slip, an evening-length sextet with original music and set design.  slip was my first adventure into dismantling a frontal viewpoint and bringing the audience into the performance environment amongst the performers.

I teach for Philadelphia’s PARD and in the past have led workshops on whether authentic movement really exists and on locating meaning within and constructing self-referential movement for Headlong Dance Theater’s Dance Theater Camp.
